A lot has happened lately. For the sake of time, i'll bullet point them...
*Owen pees and poops in the potty, only if we keep his diaper off, which we do as long as we are home. Which totally beats changing stinky diapers, and we are using way way way less diapers, like 1 or 2 a day, depending on if we go out or not!
*Jim has had 11 days off of work, his new job is totally awesome!
*Owen is in love with the movie Cars, which is cute and all but gets to be really annoying, we're kind of glad because we WERE annoyed at ratatouille. Two steps forward, two steps back?
*On Christmas Eve Matilda was sitting on Dada's lap while I was doing something in the kitchen. Owen was over by his potty and said "uh oh!" so jim jumped up and knocked over a cup of super hot hot chocolate! It spilled on Jim's leg and on Matilda's leg. We didn't realize it until a few seconds when she started screaming. It was like no other scream i have heard before. She had a footie onesie on (one my mom got for her, a christmas outfit, that my mom never got to see her wear!) so luckily it wasn't directly on her skin, but the outfit is REALLY hard to get on and off, so it was a good thing and a bad thing. As soon as I heard her scream i jumped up, grabbed her from Jim, pulled her leg out of the outfit as soon as I could and looked at her leg, it looked like she had some hot chocolate on her leg so jim wiped it away and it actually wiped off her skin, only one layer (maybe two?) but it freaked us out, completely! so I ran her to the kitchen... I soaked a clean towel with cold water and right before I placed it on her leg I freaked... I thought "is this what she needs?!" "what should we do?!" "jim call someone" I yelled! I had no idea what to do, seeing her skin wipe away just totaly shocked me and I was not in the right mind. Jim called a few people, thank you dani, mom, dad, michelle, and Jill!!, we finally figure out what we needed to do, after about an hour of her screaming, she fell asleep... and woke up about an hour later (on my lap the whole time) she was smiley and happy and herself! It made us both feel SO relieved! She is really an awesome kid! We thought we wouldn't be able to go to my parent's house christmas morning, which was a bummer, but around 1am she was totally fine and it seemed like maybe we would be able to put her in the car and head over. So when morning came, she still seemed fine! Of course her wound looked TERRBILE! but all burns look bad... But we headed over to my parent's for a nice and relaxing day!
Matilda is doing well, her wound seems to be healing nicely. At first it seemed like it was in the shape of a heart, but now we think it looks a little more like the shape of Australia, only mirrored! So funny! Thanks to everyone who gave us advice, thought of her, prayed for her, and loves her! You guys are great and we love you guys so much!
That is about all that has been happening lately... Just doing some awesomely fun (note: sarcasm) winter cleaning. Today is New Years Eve, our plans? Sleep!
Holidays are indeed more fun with kids who get excited, next year christmas will be crazy, we're trying to keep it just a holiday and not about presents and all... but its hard when i see how excited and crazy owen gets when he opens something awesome... and we feel it will only get worse! ohwell... he'll learn in time i guess.
Love you all

My kiddos!
Are driving me nutso!
Well, only slightly, but boy am I learning to be patient.
Owen has decided to go back to being a baby, and matilda has decided she is going to hide her pees from me. I am trying to EC (Elimination Communication) with Matilda, which is communicating to each other when you are peeing... which means pretty much that i could be done with diapers! But, every time I try to figure out when she might be about to pee, I step away for two seconds to deal with something else and I come back and she has peed.. ugh! It's going to be a long process, but I'm determined to be done with disposables soon! (Hopefully, if laziness doesn't get the best of me!)
I haven't been taking many pictures lately, because I can't find my camera, but here are a few Jim took from his iphone. There are more on our Flickr page. (Link also on the side bar!)

So Close!
I've never been the mom to keep the video camera recording all day because i don't want to miss/forget anything, which has slightly been a bummer because I don't really have any videos that could be considered an "america's funniest home video" - except maybe one of owen sleeping - he makes this crazy door creaking sound in it... but no like accident video that was cleverly caught on tape... until now. maybe. it's pretty funny! but the camera stopped recording just as the good part was ending. anyway... here it is! enjoy!

He can golf!
Somehow Owen was created with an awesome-at-any-sport gene... He can throw a ball better than me, swings at everything (with hitting the ball sound effects) and here... he is golfing!
crazy huh? he's awesome.

We have a daughter!
Matilda Mae Sullivan is here! She decided to show up 12 minutes past her due date, 12:12am Tuesday September 11, weighing 7lbs. 15oz. and measuring a nice 20 inches long. She was born at home, no complications, in fact everything went better than I could have ever wished for! She is too perfect! Owen seems to be taking to her well, as shown in the video below which was shot on Tuesday a few minutes after waking up with Matilda there for the first time.
The birth was great! I started contractions early Monday morning, but nothing very serious. They were about 5 minutes or so apart for a long time, but not really bugging me. So I cleaned up a bit around the house, went to the grocery store and costco, (which my mom freaked out about!) we then came home and started chopping veggies when I noticed the contractions getting a little stronger where I really had to stop and relax. (Jim was still at work and was planning on being there until around 6pm teaching a class... our deal was I wouldn't call him during the class unless it was the 'this is it come home' call...) So, I called Jill (our midwife) and told her they were just about 5-6 mins apart and getting a bit more strong and annoying, and we decided I'd drive over to her house so she could "check" me to see if it was still just pre-pre-labor or what. So, I called jim saying "this might be the call where I tell you to come home!" but I wasn't sure so we figured I'd call him once I found out more from Jill. So Owen and I got ready and went over to her house around 4pm and I was at about 2cm and only 80-90% effaced. Which meant I still had some more work to do but my body was definitely definitely working. She said I should call Jim and get him home now, if only just for moral support! So, I called Jim... this is the call! We were both smiling so big, you could hear it on either end of the phone!! So he left work to head home! In the meantime my mom and Michelle were on their way over to the house to hang out just in case this ended up being the day!
Jim got home around 530 and by that time I was definitely having more serious contractions, which i just relaxed through while sitting on the couch downstairs with everyone talking and watching Owen be a goof. Dad and Danielle came over around 7ish and Owen was excited to see grandpa! (His first word... every time he sees Grandpa is "ball!") Ellie also showed up around 7ish as well, maybe a bit earlier but I can't remember... when she walked in I was laying on my side facing the couch going through a surge. I called Jill to give her an update, which was that the contractions were spreading apart a bit, some were 6mins apart, some 3, and some 10! but they were all VERY intense and getting stronger! She told me that maybe I should take a warm bath to try and relax my body and let it figure out if it was going to keep laboring or what. So, around 745 I hopped in the bath and it was nice a relaxing. Jim and I were able to talk and act all giggly and excited, while he fed me yogurt! it was very fun! After the bath we put some clean clothes away and I was slightly out of it. Jim kept on asking me why it was taking me so long to put one shirt on a hanger and I was like uhhh geeez it is taking long here you do it! Haha, it was such an odd feeling, like I couldn't keep my mind in one place. I was having to relax and breathe every 3 to 4 mins by this time (around 815ish) and a few of them I felt an urge (somewhere!) to push? or go along with? I'm not sure how to explain it but it was definitely a different type of contraction. So, we came downstairs and hung out with everyone for a bit before I decided to call Jill again. Once I called her she said let me get dressed and I'll be over in a few minutes. (luckily, she actually DOES live a few minutes away and was here within 15!) She showed up sometime around 9, maybe before but I just don't remember. It was crazy, Jill, Marve, and their apprentice Alex showed up all at once, making 12 people in the house total! There was so much positive energy in the house I'm sure that is what helped me along so well! Once we all said our hellos (this took longer than you'd think! hehe) we went upstairs so Jill could check my progress again. After a few contractions, one while heading up on the stairs, I made it to our bed and we found that I was at 4cm, almost 5 and fully effaced! After that, the contractions seemed to ramp up and get really close. Jim rubbed me and did everything and anything I asked. As did the 3 midwives and anyone else. It's really nice being queen for a day!
Sometime around quarter to 10 my mom ran out and got coffee for the ladies and Michelle, while I kept on progressing. Sometime around 11 I really started to feel an urge to push, so Jill checked me again and I was at 8-9cm. We decided to get me onto my hands and knees, resting my head in Jims lap while he sat on a chair. It wasn't until about 1130ish that I started to really push with the contractions, which during that first one I said out loud "oh ya, now I remember this" and what I really meant was 'I kinda don't like this feeling and am not sure I want to do it again!!' But my body was ready and I wasn't going to fight it! SO, I pushed! and I could really feel baby's head move lower and lower every time. I was much more in tune with what my body was doing this time compared to with Owen, and I definitely had much more energy than I had at this point with Owen's delivery. I had one really good push where I was seriously feeling that "I am on fire" feeling. Then Jim asked if he should move down to get ready to catch baby, and they said yes, so he did and the next push, I hear Michelle say "her shoulders are out" and I had NO idea I was at that point already!! I was so zoned out, or in the zone... that I hadn't heard them say anything about the head coming out and seeing her face (which I later heard them all saying on the video that was taken!!) Once I knew the shoulders were out I was like "WOH!" and gave one more good push and felt that incredible feeling of birthing a baby. The first part is all super hard and intense, but pushing out the lower half of the body is so easy and relieving that it makes the last feeling go away so fast! Jim caught her, and there is a picture (which will be posted to flickr soon) of Matilda looking right at Jim, eyes wide open, seconds after he grabbed her. It is seriously priceless.
Anyway, I'm sure you are sick of reading by now, so I will just sum it all up by saying women are so strong, and can seriously do anything! But, we cannot create the most perfect things in the world without really awesome men... Jim I love you so much you are so awesome and keep getting more awesome every second. Thank you for Owen and Matilda.
I can't wait to show her to all of you!

We have a nephew!
Not to brag, but we have a super cute nephew born Sept 5, Ivan Jayse Sullivan. Virginia gave birth (a very long 18 hours laying in bed! yuck!) to a very healthy and beautiful boy. I think things are going well for them two, and we can't wait to meet him in November!! I posted a few pictures they sent us to our flickr page.
I'm still waiting for my little baby to show up. Today is her "due date" which means... anyday now!! I have been having some regular contractions since yesterday and now they are getting a bit more intense but nothing serious. so... now we just wait for things to get serious I guess. Jim went to work today, I know that if anything happens here i can call him and he will leave right away but i'm still a bit nervous being home alone!! I'm fine though, Owen usually keeps my mind off of the contractions, until he whacks me in the belly while i'm having one with the new golf club i bought him... what was i thinking?!?!
Anyway, hope everyone who reads this is well.. it's almost fall, which means great weather! Yay! I can't wait until we have a backyard that is worth walking out into. (out into?? is that odd?)

A new video
We posted a new video to YouTube. (The one right below this block of text)
We set up Jim's drums in Owen's toy room... which has now been turned into Owen's toy room that he cannot enter unless we are with him. Which is a bit lame but he has enough toys out in the front room to keep him occupied.
Enjoy the video!
The other day Owen decided to face-plant out in the garage onto a thick cardboard Corona box, which left him with a scratched and puffy eyelid. It was sad... I tried to get a photo of it, here it is.

It's just about time!
I hope...
Baby should be here soon, and I'm so excited! She has been moving allllll around like crazy, shoving little legs and arms into every place she can before she leaves this home. I'm excited to deliver at home again too. Not that I have delivered anywhere else but it just seems so much better to be able to have your baby, and be at home, no worrying about sleeping in a hospital bed, without hubby next to you, or baby for that matter. and not worrying about driving home and being sure your car seat is in the car before you head to the hospital. it's just like, hey! i'm already at home, i can just lay in my own bed here and relax.
I've definitely been feeling those braxton hicks contractions... everytime i do i'm like ooooooh could this be an actual one?! but it's usually not.
jims sister virginia is also pregnant... she is due 4 days before me. I keep wondering who will have baby first! if she calls saying she is having hers i will be so jealous and excited and... ahhh! so crazy! I hope everything goes awesome with her delivery.
well, stay tuned to see when baby arrives!!

Thanks to my iPhone...
...I'm now blogging again. iPhone is pretty great, by the way. I've been very happy with it. There are a few annoyances here and there but, overall, it's sort of changed the way I do things, in a way. I'm pretty sure it's already spoiled me, too. To be fair, I've never had a high-end phone/pda/browser-type-thing and I'm sure that just having access to the internet all the time is part of the thrill of the thing.
Twitter is pretty cool and seems to be getting cooler as they expand it's use. People are doing all sorts of things with it. Adding events to a Google Calendar and keeping track of your gas mileage are a couple of the latest additions I've read about. However, I haven't used it all that much as you can see from our feed over that-a-way --->
Added an RSS feed of our Netflix movies at home over on the sidebar. Pretty cool.

Jim's 30! He had his birthday on Sunday, with an added bonus of it being Father's Day, which really just means extra cake and cards. Not a bad deal!
We've been busy, yet not busy at all lately. I'm super huge in the belly area and I swear this baby is too big, sometimes I have to adjust to give her more room when she is squirming! I love it though. and I'll miss it soon.
Jim's been liking his new job, but has been really busy this past week. I try to remind him that it IS a low stress job, so relax, but sometimes it's hard. He's a hard worker and likes to get things done correctly.
Owen has been awesome lately. (always) He will usually go to bed with us, we just turn off the lights and he squirms around a bit then eventually falls asleep (usually horizontally with his head on me and his legs kicking jim... we dont mind though) It's been great since we moved our bed to the floor. He still rolls off every once in a while but a few inches is much better than 3 feet! He's so smart too... sometimes it just totally amazes me the things he picks up on. Kids are crazy!
We started watching The Shield, it's actually much better than I thought it was going to be. We are about to start season 2, as soon as Netflix ships it to us. I had no idea it was this good, and it is still on tv now? crazy. That's like 6 seasons or something. Netflix is nice, but sometimes I hate waiting for the next disc! (usualy it's not a problem but when you watch the whole disc in one sitting... it's like you have to stop cold turkey!)
We cleaned out our garage, it's nice except that recycling didn't come this past week and the time before we were out of town and for some reason we have more recycling than anyone I know. So, our clean garage is filled with mountains of recycling. They better come this Monday or I'm going to have to load up the car and take it down, which is fine but... it's like 110 out!
Speaking of the garage, Ken, one of our roomates, is moving out at the end of the month. He has kept his car in our garage since he moved in, which was... gosh like 2 years ago? crazy. anyway, it will be nice to have even MORE space... though we are not sure what we will do with the garage space. We know for sure we are going to turn his room into a music room, something we have wanted forever! So that will be fun.
That's all I have for now... tata!

That's all I have for now... tata!
